ANC-PN Mixer Supports ANCA-WR Initiatives
Glendale, California - A capacity crowd of Armenian American professionals from throughout Southern California showed their support for the Armenian National Committee Professional Network (ANC-PN) and the ANCA Western Region by attending the ANC-PN's 2003 Mid-Summer Mixer in Sherman Oaks on Friday August 8th. The event, which drew over 200 guests, was held at the residence of Vahakn and Baydsar Thomassian.

Proceeds from the ANC-PN's mixer are supporting key ANCA-WR initiatives; such as normalizing trade relations between the United States and Armenia, supporting Armenian Genocide Resolutions in Congress, establishing a standard curriculum on the Armenian Genocide in California public schools and working to ensure that the Armenian Genocide is properly recognized in the Museum of Tolerance.

"The turnout at the mixer was phenomenal" said Jeannine Topalian, an ANC-PN Executive Committee member. "Not only did we have a good mix of people from a variety of professions, we had a number of new attendees who have not been at our events in the past," she added.

"It was encouraging to see so many Armenian young professionals interested in the work of the ANCA-WR. We welcome their support," said Armen Martin, an ANC-PN Executive Committee member.

"The ANC-PN decided to donate all the proceeds from our mixer to the ANCA-WR because of the incredibly important work they are doing right now with regard to Genocide recognition as well as initiatives to improve Armenia's economy," said Pattyl Aposhian, an ANC-PN Executive Committee member. "The ANC-PN represents a large number of Armenian American professionals and is proud that our generation is dedicated to the Armenian Cause," Aposhian emphasized.

Individuals interested in learning more about the ANC-PN are encouraged to visit the organization's website at www.ancpn.com.

The mission of the ANC-PN is to develop the next generation of Armenian American leaders. Our vision is to encourage the emergence of an educated and politically active community of Armenian American professionals who participate at the local, state and federal decision-making levels to advance the Armenian cause. The ANC-PN seeks to accomplish its mission by offering educational and leadership development programs and services and social activities that promote the growth of participants as effective professionals and strong leaders. In the spirit of building coalitions, we seek to establish partnerships with other Armenian and non-Armenian organizations.
