ANC-PN Launches Second Annual Summer Trip To Armenia |
|
Glendale, California - Building on the successes of last year, the Armenian National Committee - Professional Network (ANC-PN) will host its second annual trip to Armenia this year. Over 40 young Armenian American professionals from across the nation will embark on a 13-day trip to the Republics of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh during the summer of 2006.
Though the trip is an ideal opportunity for first time visitors to explore Armenia, it is also an occasion for those who have already visited their homeland, to travel and enjoy the country with like-minded individuals.
In Armenia, participants will visit Khor Virap Monastery, Tsitsernakaberd, the Matenadaran, Yerablur National Cemetery, Etchmiadzin, Sardarabad, the temple of Garni, the Geghard Monastery and Mayr Hayastan Monument, among many other sites. The group of young professionals will attend various meetings with government officials and spend an evening conversing with expatriates and local community leaders.
The trip will feature a four-day excursion to Nagorno-Karabakh to visit various churches, mosques, museums and monuments situated in the cities of Shushi, Stepanakert and surrounding regions. The Nagorno-Karabakh excursion will include a visit to the village of Ashan, in the Martuni region, where funds raised from the ANC-PN's annual Christmas parties have been used to improve and renovate one of the Armenian Relief Society's Sosseh kindergartens. Additional excursions include an overnight trip to Lake Sevan and a visit to Jermuk.
This year's trip, beginning on July 15 and running through July 28, will cost $1200, which includes 9 nights at the 4-star Congress Hotel in Yerevan and 3 nights at the Shoushi Hotel in Artsakh (rate based on double-occupancy; single-occupancy rates available). The fee also includes daily breakfast, transportation fees, museum and tour tickets and three large kefs.
Although airline accommodations are not included, organizers recommend contacting Sidon Travel (818) 553-0777 or Vernon Travel (818) 239-3750 for airline reservations.
An information session will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. for individuals interested in learning more about the ANC-PN Summer Trip to Armenia. For more information contact the ANC-PN at armenia2006@ancpn.com.
